Turner Voices Youth Media Institute

Interim LogoTurner Voices Youth Media Institute is a week-long intensive “All Things Turner Broadcasting System” program focused on leadership and media career development held the last week in June on the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Ever wanted to go behind the scenes during a newscast or learn the ins and outs at any Turner Broadcasting System’s network? Here’s your chance to learn more about the media industry, the wide array of career opportunities available and the leadership skills it takes to make it in any business. Sponsored by Turner Broadcasting System, Turner Voices Youth Media Institute takes you through a jam-packed week of workshops and roundtables led by & Turner Broadcasting System executives, in-depth tours of CNN or Turner Studios and dynamic networking events with Turner Broadcasting System employees. Plus, you’ll “make the pitch” to Turner executives at week’s end in a competitive, team-based media challenge.

Sunday, June 21 – Friday, June 26, 2015
All cost for room, board and program materials are covered by Turner Broadcasting System. Students will reside in the college dorms at Georgia Tech, supervised by 21CL staff.

Turner Voices Youth Media Institute Requirements

  • Must apply to 21st Century Leaders and be a rising junior or senior high school student in Georgia
  • Must have some interest in professional development, interacting with multiple forms of media, and exploring a future media-related career.
  • This program is highly competitive. Only 75 students are selected.
  • If you’re choosing this as one of your summer leadership institutes, your 21CL application must be completed by Wednesday, February 25th.
