Summer Arts Intensives: May 31 - June 5, 2015

Welcome to the College of the Arts’ Summer Arts Intensive! These one-week, non-residential programs are perfect for young artists who are serious about honing their craft and learning more about what it is like to pursue college-level work in the arts. We invite you to explore our offerings, and come and experience the arts at KSU!

Acting Intensive

Intensive Dates: May 31 - June 5, 2015
The KSU Summer Acting Intensive offers a one-week, non-residential program for students who are dedicated to the art of acting. Students in this intensive will collaborate with like-minded peers and be taught by the accomplished professional theatre artists of KSU’s award-winning performance faculty. Master classes in acting, movement, voice & speech and stage combat will culminate in a final performance. This program is limited to 20 participants, so please register early!

The cost of the intensive is only $295 and includes lunch in the nationally recognized KSU Dining Commons Monday-Friday.
Art Intensive
 
Intensive Dates: May 31 - June 5, 2015
The KSU Summer Art Intensive is open to rising 9th-12th grade students interested in the visual arts. Students will explore a variety of media such as ceramics, mixed media, drawing, software and digital applications, technology, bookmaking, and printmaking with KSU faculty and students. The intensive is designed to help students further develop their skills and creativity, and strengthen their portfolios. A pin-up show at the end of the week will highlight student work. The School of Art & Design also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding students who attend the intensive.

The cost of the intensive is only $295 and includes lunch in the nationally recognized KSU Dining Commons Monday-Friday.
Dance Intensive

The KSU Summer Dance Intensive offers a one-week, non-residential program for high school students who want the opportunity to experience technical and artistic growth in an environment that fosters creativity and learning. Students will study with dance professors at KSU, and experience a variety of dance technique and theoretical courses that are an integral part of dance education at this university. Students will take classes in modern, ballet, African and jazz technique, as well as experience theory classes in dance history and kinesiology. Faculty will set choreographic repertory that will be performed by the students in a concert at the end of the intensive. The Department of Dance at KSU also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding students who attend the intensive.
 
The cost of the intensive is only $295 and includes lunch each day. 
Music Intensive 
 
Intensive Dates: May 31 - June 5, 2015
The KSU Summer Music Intensive are intended for rising 9th-12th grade students who want the opportunity to experience musical and artistic growth in an environment that fosters creativity and learning. Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of individual and ensemble sessions with our exceptional faculty and current School of Music students. The week culminates in a performance that showcases the student’s work. The School of Music at KSU also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding students who attend the intensive. Musical Theatre Intensive
 
Intensive Dates: May 31 - June 5, 2015
The KSU Summer Musical Theatre Intensive is intended for high school students who are serious about honing the necessary skills to perform in musical theatre on the collegiate level. Acting, dance and vocal skills workshops will be led by KSU faculty and local professionals. The weeklong sessions will culminate in a musical theatre presentation performed by the workshop participants. This program is limited to 25 participants, so please register early!

The cost of the intensive is only $295 and includes lunch in the nationally recognized KSU Dining Commons Monday-Friday.
