5-10 hours per week/Part-time.   Days and time will be determine with each school

About LAA Youth Department: The LAA Youth Department provides a range of services designed to improve academic achievement for Latino students.   The department's vision is to provide comprehensive resources, best-practices, and initiatives that address the educational needs of Latino students and families.
 
Position Description: Actively participate in creating and providing hands-on strategies and experiences that empower highly motivated Latino middle and high school students through LAA after school program to:
  •         Increase their academic, leadership, physical, and cultural knowledge and skills
  •        Develop and implement enrichment activities and leadership curriculum
  •        Work with students in an after school setting, individually and in small groups, to provide academic assistance in mathematics, science, reading, and writing
  •       Work with students in academic, leadership, or community service learning projects
  •       Maintain accurate records of daily contacts and activities with students
  •       Work collaboratively under supervision of LAA staff.
  •       Assist Youth Department staff in preparation for LAA activities and workshops
  •      Work with students on team-building exercises and the college-going process.
Qualifications:
  •       Current student in good academic standing and completed one year of credited course work
  •       Must successfully pass a background check and valid photo ID
  •       Interest in working with Latino middle and high school students
  •       Must have reliable transportation
  •       Must be dependable and flexible
