Fellows Students - Join us on Friday, June 9th, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for a day of fun and networking.  The Deloitte Impact Day will allow you to showcase some of the knowledge you have acquired during your time in the JA Fellows Program, and collaborate with professionals from one of the most respected consulting firms in the world.  This years event will include student participants working collaboratively on case studies and taking part in a consulting segment with Deloitte's executives.

My Brother’s Keeper and Our Sister’s Keeper DeKalb

DeKalb County School District will be hosting the annual ‘My Brother’s Keeper and Our Sister’s Keeper DeKalb’ on May 6, 2017, from 9am-3pm at Miller Grove High School. This year, we’ve added Our Sister’s Keeper to the summit for our female students, so that they too can benefit from this life-changing event.We’re looking forward to another great day filled with empowerment workshops, mentorship services, speakers, and more! Calling all budding innovators, entrepreneurs, creative problem-solvers, and tech pioneers! Are you overflowing with ideas and ready to turn them into reality? Whether you’re launching a new app, a worthwhile charity, or an amazing product, there are some things you need to know to get started. In this camp, you'll learn more about brainstorming solutions, managing projects, designing and developing a brand, and harnessing the power of social media to transmit your ideas to the public. You’ll even get hands-on experience, working with a team to develop a professional-looking presentation to pitch a great idea to potential investors.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Bank of America Champion Scholarship - 4/30/17 Deadline!

Bank of America Foundation has established the Champion Scholarship Fund in honor of a late associate, Donna L. Champion, a 20-year veteran of the bank. Presented by the Foundation for the Carolinas, The Bank of America Champion Scholarship Fund will provide undergraduate scholarships to senior high school students active in Junior Achievement of Georgia. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit, financial need, and community service. 

Eligibility
  1. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors enrolling in college full-time during the following academic year.
  2. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. 
  3. Applicants must be active participants of Junior Achievement of Georgia. 
  4. Applicants must plan to major in business or computer technology. 
Application Procedures
  1. A copy of the estimated expense budget for tuition, room and board, books, etc. at the school you plan to attend next fall (Available from the school's Financial Aid Office)
  2. An official/unofficial copy of high school transcript.  
  3. A 1-2 page typed essay explaining why the applicant is applying for the scholarship, their leadership qualifications, and educational and career goals.

2017 Career Expo at Dunwoody High School



The Dunwoody Perimeter Chamber’s Partners in Education and Workforce Development Council is excited to announce their 2017 Career Expo at Dunwoody High School which will take place from 3:00-7:00pm on Thursday, April 20.  
 
The Expo is designed to give students and parents from Dunwoody High School as well as regional public and private schools the opportunity to view available traditional college and career choices.   All regional high school aged students and parents of those students are encouraged to attend.
 
This event is one of the many ways the Chamber’s Partners in Education and Workforce Development Council is working to address the need to retain youth in the region and meet the growing workforce needs,” said Pam Tallmadge, Partners in Education and Workforce Development Chair and City of Dunwoody Councilwoman.  “Broad involvement by regional businesses and educators is key to the event’s success and helping to highlight the diverse opportunities available without attending a four-year college or university.”

R2L NextGen - Application Deadline EXTENDED




Do you know a dedicated high school junior who wants to learn about how government works? Encourage them to Apply now to CHCI’s R2L NextGen program and take advantage of an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.
R2L NextGen is a week-long leadership and civic engagement program for current high school juniors. CHCI will bring a group of Latino high school students to D.C. to learn about how the Federal Government works, meet key leaders, visit historic sites and develop a deeper understanding of how they can affect positive change in their communities and their nation.
The program, which will take place July 23 – 28, 2017, is completely FREE of charge to all selected student participants.

Atlanta: In order to be eligible to apply, students must reside in Fulton or DeKalb County.
