JA 2018 Senior Scholarship

The JA Senior Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who best exemplify the passion and spirit of the JA Fellows or JA Company Program as a participant.

Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of the completed application, feedback from volunteers and staff, and demonstrated financial need.  Financial need is not a necessary component of the scholarship, but could be a contributing factor.

Every year, through our Student Leaders program we help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. They’re awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society.

2018 Student of Integrity Scholarships - Deadline Jan. 3rd


The Center for Character Ethics is proud to announce the call for entries for our 2018 Student of Integrity Scholarships. An annual awards program that selects and honors high school seniors who personify high character.
This year we are awarding SEVEN scholarships to graduating high school seniors which range from $1000-$3500. This includes TWO CTAE-specific scholarships for those students who want to choose a technical path.

JA Commercial Guidelines

   JA Entrepreneurial Competition, Expo & Awards

JA Commercial Video_________________________________________________

Criteria

Image result for cell phone zoom lensØ  The video should grab the viewers’ attention and highlight the company’s product or service in an innovative way. The commercial should bring to life the benefits and use of your product in a way that will be memorable for viewers. 

Ø  The clip should clearly demonstrate how the product adds value/fulfills a need for the target market.  

Ø  The maximum time allocated for each commercial                 is 1 minute.

Ø  To submit please provide video in .mov, quicktime or mp4 file format to a large file sharing site like DROPBOX and email the link to jafellowsdocs@gmail.com by Friday, 01/12/18 at 12:00p.m.  Once received, videos will submitted to our judging panel for review. 

Guidelines

Ø  Please note: All videos must adhere to copyright protection guidelines. Students may not use copyright protected images, music, or references without express written permission. Any videos that include music copyright infringement will be denied. Please cite the music source (artist and song title) at the end of video even if the music is public domain or royalty free.

Ø  Commercial participants must include JA Company participants. Only original videos can be submitted and should not have been previously used for any other purpose.

Ø  Video should capture company name, innovative use of product, and state unit price.

Ø  When making your video, think of some of the best commercials you have seen – what made them the best and what made them memorable? Were they funny, innovative, or shocking? Did they tell a story? Did they speak to an experience you personally have felt?

Ø  For additional resources on making a video commercial consult the internet. There is a wealth of resources available to guide you in how to approach making a commercial advertisement. Be sure to project your voices loud when recording so all audio can be heard.    

Key Points Assessed by Judges

Ø  This year’s commercial judging will be done by a committee inclusive of JA of Georgia staff members. They will take into account the following:

o   Innovation

o   Creativity

o   Video Quality

o   Ability to communicate:

§  How the product adds value/fulfills a need for the target market
