Tech High School Alumni Assoc./W.O. Cheney Merit
Purpose
For students pursuing degrees in mathematics, engineering or one of the physical sciences
Eligibility Criteria:
- A legal citizen of the U.S.A.
- A legal resident of the state of Georgia for at least three years prior to application.
- Demonstrate high moral qualities.
- Have earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, OR be in the upper 15% of his/her graduating class.
- SAT (math and reading) of at least 1300.
- Have been accepted to a four-year accredited college or university to pursue an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Engineering or one of the Physical Sciences.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student.
- Demonstrate a commitment to community service.
- Preference will be given to:
- A student attending a college or university in the state of Georgia.
- A student who, in his/her essay, claims a connection with Tech High School, if such a claim can be verified.
Award Amount
$5,000 annually for up to four years
