Fellows Students - Join us on Friday, June 9th, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for a day of fun and networking. The Deloitte Impact Day will allow you to showcase some of the knowledge you have acquired during your time in the JA Fellows Program, and collaborate with professionals from one of the most respected consulting firms in the world. This years event will include student participants working collaboratively on case studies and taking part in a consulting segment with Deloitte's executives.

For 23 years Georgia United Credit Union has offered an annual High School Scholarship to members and their children. After awarding nearly $200,000 to more than 200 students, we are thrilled to bring you this year’s program with some exciting changes!

June 11-17, 2017
This intensive one-week program exposes 30 high school rising juniors and seniors to the various fields of business, business majors and career paths. Students participate in a number of academic and social activities, as well as visit corporate headquarters to meet executives and professionals in various industries.
Program Tuition: $495. A limited number of need-based financial scholarships are available upon acceptance.

Accounting Residency Program

June 21-24, 2017
This four-day program is designed to introduce high school rising juniors and seniors to the basics of accounting. Students will get a glimpse of what to expect from the college experience and explore the many career opportunities available in the accounting profession.
Program Tuition: $95. A limited number of need-based financial scholarships are available upon acceptance.

All of the Wealthy Habits programs mix fun and finance. Our two-day program is a great introduction to what gives an individual financial freedom and a general understanding of what it takes to achieve – Wealthy Habits.

We understand that students aren’t interested in a program that lectures on budgeting and saving. Our philosophy is to show students how making smarter choices now will benefit them in the future. By participating in role-playing games, they experience what life as an adult might look like (working, paying bills, making financial choices). They soon understand how choices along the way can affect their future outcome.

Students are engaged through a series of games and discussion that make learning fun, regardless of the student’s current knowledge level or interest in finance.

Girls who Code - rising 10th & 11th grade students

The Summer Immersion Program is a FREE 7-week summer program for 10th-11th grade girls to learn computer science, get exposure to tech jobs and join a supportive sisterhood of thousands of girls across the US!

It is an introductory computer science course and no previous experience is required. We welcome all eligible applicants who have an interest in technology and a willingness to learn!

The JA Fellows Senior Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who best exemplify the passion and spirit of the JA Fellows program.

Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of the completed application, feedback from volunteers and staff, and demonstrated financial need. Financial need is not a necessary component of the scholarship, but could be a contributing factor.

DEADLINE is 3 days away - JA Fellows Outstanding Young Business Person Award

The Outstanding Young Business Person is a 9th-12th grade student who embraces opportunity and entrepreneurship, has a clear desire to be a better person, promotes innovative thinking and continues to grow personally and professionally. We are looking for students who demonstrate growth over their JA Fellows experience. The OYBP will be able to acknowledge challenges they faced in their company and how they overcame those challenges. This person will display professionalism, great communication skills, and have in interest in pursuing a career in business.

There are two phases for this opportunity:

Part 1 – Essay & Student Resume Submission

Part 2 – In-person Interview

OYBP Part 1 - Essay

The first part of the individual competition requires all interested students to e-mail a 250-500 word response to the statement below along with a current student resume by 8:00pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 to jafellowsdocs@gmail.com.

Responses are to be typed as a professional word document and included as an attachment.

The students with the top responses will move onto the second phase consisting of an in-person interview. Please, note that you have to be present the day of the competition for the interview. No Skype or phone interviews will be permitted.

Essay Topic
The JA Fellows theme this year is Intentional Success. For your essay, please write a letter to your 25-year-old self, describing how focusing on intentional success while in the JA Fellows program has helped you to get where you are at that period of your life. Please explain how the concept of intentional success has transcended personal, educational, and professional boundaries. Additionally, describe who you are at the age of 25, and what you are doing at that stage in your life. Touch on the ways in which having the opportunity to become an entrepreneur in high school impacted your post-secondary plans, your current profession, your business expertise, and your outlook on life.

OYBP Part 2: Interview

Interviews will take place at the annual competition in front of a panel of judges. Student must be present the day of the competition and on time for their interview (Skype or phone interviews are not permitted). Interview times will be available on the day of the competition.

Interviews will be a maximum of 8 minutes in length and may cover any aspect of your JA Fellows experience. Should any questions be asked about current events or trends (from a business perspective), all students will be given the same prior notice about the potential topics or questions.

JA Student Opportunities
