JA Fellows - Deloitte Impact Day


Deloitte has invited our JA Fellows students the opportunity to participate in the 15th Annual Deloitte IMPACT Day on Friday, June 6, 2014.  

We are thrilled that Deloitte has extended this invitation again this year and due to high demand this will be a first come first serve event for the first 40 Fellows students who confirm availability by email response.  Please, see below for additional information about the event.

 Date:  Friday, June 6, 2014
Location:  Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center
280 Northside Drive, NW Georgia World Congress Center, Building C Atlanta, Georgia 30314
Time: 9:30a.m. – 3:00p.m. please arrive promptly (Lunch will be provided).  
Attire: Professional dress is required (please wear comfortable shoes)
Transportation will not be provided by JA or Deloitte.  Make sure to plan ahead to accommodate your transportation needs.  

JA Finance Park allows students to experience their personal financial futures first-hand. Upon entering the center, students receive a ‘life situation’ with job, income, education, and family scenarios. Based on their adult persona, students visit businesses in the simulation to gather information about different financial decisions in order to complete a balanced household budget.  Volunteers serve as personal financial advisors for the day, coaching students through the decisions they need to make.   

The Deloitte IMPACT Day provided by the staff will feature:
Arrival – 9:30am
Meet Deloitte Staff & Volunteers – 9:30am to 10:00am
Finance Park Simulation – 10:00am to 2:00pm
  • Truth Revealed (15 minutes) – Receive Life Profiles and review information (i.e. job, salary, age, marital status, children, etc.)
  • The Big Search (60 minutes) – Visit each store to collect option sheets for each budget item.
  • The Budget Puzzle & Lunch Rotation (90 minutes) – Complete the Budget Worksheet by making choices for each budgeting category.
  • The Final Commitment (45 minutes) – Visit each store to pay bills based on the decisions they made during the Budget Puzzle.
  • Checkout (30 minutes) – Visit Elavon to confirm that their budget is balanced.
Career Exploration – 2:00pm to 3:00pm
