JA Fellows Commercial Video Competition

JA Fellows Commercial Video

The Commercial Video Competition is apart of the Annual JA Fellows Competition.  This category has a deadline prior to the event in March.  We have aligned the deadline at an earlier point in the program so that your company commercial can be an effective tool for marketing.

Criteria

Ø    The video should grab the viewers’ attention and highlight the company’s product or service in an innovative way. The commercial should bring to life the benefits and use of your product in a way that will be memorable for viewers.
Ø    The clip should clearly demonstrate how the product adds value/fulfills a need for the target market.
Ø    The maximum time allocated for each commercial is 2 minutes.
Ø    To submit please provide video in .mov, quicktime or mp4 file format to a large file sharing site like DROPBOX and email the link to jafellowsdocs@gmail.com by Friday, 01/06/17 at 12:00p.m.  Once received, videos will then be uploaded on Junior Achievement of Georgia’s Facebook & YouTube pages on Tuesday, 01/17/17 and will remain on these platforms until Monday, 03/06/17. During this period, we encourage you to have people view, like, and share your videos as a promotion and exposure strategy.

Guidelines

Ø    Please note: All videos must adhere to copyright protection guidelines. Students may not use copyright protected images, music, or references without express written permission.  Proof of approval must be submitted to avoid disqualification.
Ø    Commercial participants must include Fellows participants. Only original videos can be submitted and should not have been previously used for any other purpose.
Ø    Video should capture company name, innovative use of product, and state unit price.
Ø    When making your video, think of some of the best commercials you have seen – what made them the best and what made them memorable? Were they funny, innovative, or shocking? Did they tell a story? Did they speak to an experience you personally have felt?
Ø    For additional resources on making a video commercial consult the internet. There is a wealth of resources available to guide you in how to approach making a commercial advertisement. Be sure to project your voices loud when recording so all audio can be heard.

Key Points Assessed by Judges

Ø    This year’s commercial judging will be done by a committee inclusive of JA of Georgia executives. They will take into account the following:
o   Innovation
o   Creativity
o   Video Quality
o   Ability to communicate:
§  Benefits of product
§  How the product adds value/fulfills a need for the target market

JA Build Your Future App

JA Build Your Future is an app that helps teens, their parents and teachers break down the cost of achieving young people's career goals into real, easy-to-understand numbers.
Created jointly by Junior Achievement USA and PwC, JA Build Your Future helps teens explore potential future income from a desired career and evaluate the cost of post-secondary education to help them make informed decisions.

In JA Build Your Future, teens can assess more than 100 careers, see what levels of education are required, then calculate the cost of education. Teens can then adjust the level of money they and their parents may contribute, combined with student loans they may need to secure. At the end of the exercise, teens are given a Return on Investment (ROI) score between 1 and 5. The score helps teens and their parents create a roadmap for success that will take them from choosing a career to calculating the cost of achieving it.

JA Build Your Future works on Apple and Android phones and tablets. Get the app now at Google Play or download JA Build Your Future for Apple for iPhone or iPad now! You may also use the online version of this app.
