S.M.I.L.E. (Summer Mentoring Initiative in Legal Education)
The S.M.I.L.E. program is a FREE mentoring program created by Judge Stacey Hydrick of the DeKalb County State Court. It began in 2012 as a way of introducing high school girls interested in learning about potential careers in the areas of criminal justice, law, corrections, probation, and social work. The program is designed to provide a behind the scenes look at the many aspects of our criminal and civil justice system and how they interact. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016 session! Please explore this site for additional information.
We hope it makes you S.M.I.L.E.!
