2018 Student of Integrity Scholarships

Image result for bbb center for character ethicsThe Center for Character Ethics is proud to announce the call for entries for our 2018 Student of Integrity Scholarships. An annual awards program that selects and honors high school seniors who personify high character.

This year we are awarding SEVEN scholarships to graduating high school seniors which range from $1000-$3500. This includes TWO CTAE-specific scholarships for those students who want to choose a technical path.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST

  1. Complete Online Entry Form which is above.  Within the online entry form, you will include the following:
    • Please write a letter expressing your thoughts on what it means to be a leader and how it feels when giving back to the community.  Include experiences and examples of your school & community involvement.
    • High School Transcript (Please remove Social Security Numbers.)
  2. Recommendation Form to be completed online by the student’s recommender. This form must be completed by a school administrator, teacher, counselor, community/religious leader or an employer. A recommendation from a family member or friend should not be submitted.  The deadline for submission of this form is January 3, 2018.  Please forward this link to the individual providing your recommendation: http://go.bbb.org/atl-recommendation-form

 2017 Latino Youth Leadership Conference

The annual Latino Youth Leadership Conference is an exciting day full of high energy, inspiration, motivational speakers, practical tips for college, workshops and a College and Career Fair for Latino middle school and high school students from all across Georgia. Parents, teachers, school staff and volunteers also participate.

Now in its 18th year, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference attracts nearly 2,000 students, parents, teachers and volunteers. The conference aims to motivate Latino students to finish high school and pursue college; provide them with the tools and skills they need to access a college education; develop leadership skills; and promote career exploration.



WHAT:18th Annual Latino Youth Leadership Conference
WHO:Latino middle school and high school students from all over Georgia.   Parents, teachers and school staff are invited to participate.
WHEN:Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE:Kennesaw State University, Marietta campus
COST:FREE. Breakfast and lunch provided at no cost.

Every year, through our Student Leaders program we help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. They’re awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society.

Wealthy Habits Program for Middle School students Columbus Day


All of the Wealthy Habits programs mix fun and finance. Our one-day program is an excellent introduction to what gives an individual financial freedom and a general understanding of what it takes to achieve Wealthy Habits.
The one-day program provides an overview of the following topics:
  • Earning Money and Paying Taxes
  • Budgeting
  • Saving for Emergencies
  • Investing
  • The Rule of 72 (Compound Interest)
 




Gwinnett County Public School Foundation Scholarships - Multiple Opportunities





The 2018 GCPS Foundation Scholarships are now available and are individually listed.  Click here to access. The deadline for the scholarships managed by the GCPS Foundation is December 11, 2017. Letters of Recommendation must be completed by December 14, 2017.
 
The Foundation awards scholarships to Gwinnett County Public School graduating seniors only.
Winners will be announced May 2018.

The GCPS Foundation has proudly awarded over $350,000 in student scholarships to GCPS graduating seniors.  Scholarships range in value from $500-$6,000.  Keep visiting the GCPS Foundation Catalogue online to view additional scholarships as they become available.
