Global Young Innovators Initiative: Impact Through Leadership


 
 
July 23-28 at Emory University
  • Unique six day summit for high school students held in partnership with Leadership Initiatives, a US-based non-profit that approaches the problem of underdevelopment by empowering communities to address their own needs through education and local financing
  • You will serve as a real-life international business consultant for a small Nigerian business alongside a professional mentor and a team of other students
    • You'll collaborate via Skype and e-mail with a local Nigerian business owner to develop creative and sustainable solutions to the challenges their business or community faces.
    • Previously, students have improved water purification systems, combated computer illiteracy, helped start and support small business, and designed educational programs- all while honing the skills needed to lead the next generation of creative problem solvers and innovative thinkers.

Work via email and Skype with local Nigerian business leaders to gain real-life experience in leadership, design, technology, ethics, and more. 
 
 
Attend interactive workshops on current global issues such as failing states, cybersecurity, and human rights, presented by leading experts in the field.
 
 
Have the opportunity to be selected to join Leadership Initiatives’ International Business Alliance Program (IBAP), a highly-competitive mentorship program.

TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program for High Schoolers

 

Are you a high school student or a recent grad looking for some real world work experience this summer at one of Metro Atlanta's top companies?


Last year, TAG-Ed's Summer Internship Program placed 162 students in a five week summer internship at one of over 60 companies around the Metro Atlanta area!



"The TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program provides real-world experiences for high-achieving students with strong STEM aptitude. Students are placed in companies interested in investing in STEM talent and impacting the future technology workforce. Matches are based on related interests, qualifications, and project requirements."

The internship will take place over five consecutive weeks, with interns working an average of 20-30 hours per week. All interns are paid $200 each week by their host company, totaling to a $1,000 stipend at the end of the completed program.

Interested in applying?
Students applications opened on January 15th and will remain open through June. Internship placements/assignments began in mid April and will continue through July 3rd. Internships will be completed at some point between June 1-August 7, 2016.

Delta Air Lines is offering JA Fellows students the opportunity of a lifetime this summer. Four JA Fellows students will receive scholarships to the six day National Flight Academy summer program in Pensacola, Florida – July 31 through August 5, 2016. Through the National Flight Academy partnership, Delta Air Lines sponsored students will engage in hands-on learning designed to inspire learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The National Flight Academy brings the latest in multisensory media and simulation technologies to create an immersive naval aviator experience like none other aboard the world’s only virtual land-locked aircraft carrier, AMBITION. Using the National Flight Academy’s Joint Operations Centers, Aircraft (simulators) and Joint Intelligence Centers, students will learn aviation principles, communication practices and soft skill challenges.

Georgia Gwinnett College Tech Camp - Registration Now Open

GGC-SST-CrestGeorgia Gwinnett College (GGC) School of Science and Technology (SST) sponsors summer enrichment camps for students currently in 6th through 11th grades. Courses are taught by Georgia Gwinnett College faculty, staff, and students.
Each camp session runs from 9 am – 3 pm daily. No prior programming experience required. The $225 program fee includes lunch and snacks each day, campus tour, guest speakers, all supplies, and additional hands-on science workshops.

For High School Students currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades
